Paddy Kehoe has reviewed my album, Counterpoint, for RTE Lyric FM in Dublin.  In it he describes my version of Steve Reich’s New York Counterpoint as a “masterful interpretation [which] suitably highlights that lyrical side in the opening bars, before proceeding merrily on through the repetitive, music-box perkiness of the work, which swells and diminishes polyphonically throughout.”

My first solo album has been released on Ergodos Records!  The three-track disc features Steve Reich’s New York Counterpoint and Benedict Schlepper-Connolly’s Another Country, as well as a transcription of Bach’s Sarabandefrom Partita No. 2 in D Minor.

01/05/2013 | New Basset Clarinet Concerto in Dublin

On 7th June, I will be performing the Mozart Clarinet Concerto as well as a new Basset Clarinet Concerto by my good friend Garrett Sholdice.  The new concerto, entitled Am Obersee, is written for the same forces as the Mozart from which Garrett also derived his inspiration.  The concert takes place in Christchurch Cathedral in Dublin and more information can be found here

White Rose Trio

Formed by clarinettists Jonathan Sage, Sarah Watts and Heather Roche, the White Rose Clarinet Trio provides entertainment for weddings, functions and private parties and already has bookings into 2010. The aim is to give an alternative to the traditional string quartet and repertoire includes music by Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Krommer.
